Falk Hofmann, the visionary mind behind the Icterus Grow Cube System, initially forged his career in banking in Germany, specializing in financing renewable energy projects. His journey evolved when he recognized optimization opportunities within the agricultural sector during his involvement in projects merging energy and agriculture. Transitioning from financing to entrepreneurship, Falk conceived the idea of an autonomous indoor cultivation and processing system, aiming to produce optimal crops in a controlled environment, generate renewable energy and water, and reuse system waste. With the support of a Dutch engineering partner, the first prototype took shape.
Yoselin, his wife and co-founder, infused her marketing expertise into the venture, weaving a comprehensive philosophy around local production and resource autonomy. Inspired by a resilient Venezuelan bird known for adaptability and nest renewal, she created the metaphorical and graphical identity that represents their company and ideas.
Through the ICTERUS indoor farm system, Falk and Yoselin extend their vision beyond local growth, aiming to inspire everyone to seize control of their food sources and contribute to a more resilient world.

Famous for its ability to restore old nests and thrive in diverse climates, this bird serves as a powerful metaphor for the company’s purpose: the development of autonomous agritech solutions designed to improve efficiencies at various stages of the agricultural value chain.
